The aspects that make a good film include: Character development, entertaining plot twists, and several different settings to keep audience attention. The movie Karate Kid details on character development by displaying Dre Parker's reactions to his being bullied once moving to China. However, he soon becomes adamant on learning how to properly defend himself so he can be admirable and face up to his bullies. A creative plot twist was found in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when Harry's name is drawn from the goblet signifying that he is to participate in the Triwizard Tournament. Finally, World War Z utilized several different settings such as Israel, the vessels off of New York, and Nova Scotia. By applying these characteristics within films, I feel that it will keep audiences entertained for an entire viewing.
i also wrote in my blog that plot twists are key to a great movie! without them movies would be boring and predictable. there was so many plot twists in Harry Potter! i think the biggest plot twist in harry potter is finding out that Harry Potter himself is a horcrux!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post Raina! I loved that you mentioned character development! So did I! I also agree with having a plot twist and several different settings to make a great film! Having a plot twist totally captures attention and having several settings also makes for a component of a great movie! Also, great examples too!
ReplyDeleteI liked your post but would have loved for it to be longer. The usage of Harry Potter as an example for plot twists was an intelligent decision since that series of fils was incedibly popular/well known.
ReplyDeleteI love that you included character development within your post, because I believe it is a key aspect in the plot of a movie, therefore the overall intrigue. The movie Karate Kid was a great example for this, because you can really observe how Dre transforms throughout the film.
